Education Overview 

Carolyn Cuttino, BSN, RN, CWCN, CWS, VP of Clinical Services at Corstrata will be delivering this education on the recommended and proper wound care protocols for Hospice & Palliative Care patients. This education will focus on: 

  • Evidence-based palliative wound care management and prevention guidelines.
  • Recommendations of efficacious wound dressings and supplies to reduce the number of in-home visits and control costs.
  • Documentation of best practices to meet regulatory compliance and minimize liability exposure.
  • The use of technology to improve financial and clinical outcomes.

About the Educator 

Carolyn Cuttino, VP of Clinical Services at Corstrata is a board certified wound care nurse and certified wound specialist with over 35+ years experience. She is one of the founding directors of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) and serves on the planning committee for the Symposium of Advanced Wound Care. She has authored numerous wound care publications and has lectured extensively throughout the country on wound management. She is past President of the Southeast Region and past chair of the National Conference Planning Committee of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Society. She was the 2009 recipient of the Symposium of Advanced Wound Care Founders Award, given for contributions towards the success of the symposium and the advancement of wound care. 

Ms. Cuttino has consulted with the Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence in CMS’s Pressure Ulcer Initiative. Carolyn is a faculty member for the Wound Certification Prep Course, which is sponsored by NACCME (North American Center for Continuing Education), the official prep course of the Symposium of Advanced Wound Care and the recommended review course by the American Board of Wound Management Foundation. She also serves as an expert witness in legal cases involving wound care & medical malpractice for law firms throughout the country.
